There are 2 things that I realize the most after living here for a week :
- The phone balance is reducing pretty quick.
- The food price is not as cheap as people says (if I convert it to Rupiah).
Ok, hawker food is cheaper, a bowl of wonton noodle is S$3 (Rp. 21.000), which makes the monthly food expense is about S$300 (Rp. 2.100.000).
That's why I want to cook my own meal while I haven't started to work. I went to the market and they're even cost me S$12 (Rp. 84.000) for a huge Napa-cabbage, a pack of fish balls, about 1 red-onion & 1 garlic (S$0.4 can you believe it? hixx), a grab of kway-teow, 1 huge yongtoufu fishcake, and 5 small yongtoufus. My prediction is that they will be finished in 2 days of 3 times meal. It is cheaper, if you don't count the gas & water to cook'n'wash. So, almost the same with buying hawker food, but of course home-cook meal is healthier.
I didn't find any difficulty about the culture so far. So yah... it's value-shock that got me.
